About Villages of Shady Hollow

The Villages of Shady Hollow (VOSH) is a quiet family-oriented suburb of Austin in southwestern Travis County. VOSH boasts a private swimming pool, a newly remodeled amenity center, a neighborhood park with a covered playscape, and well-lit sidewalks throughout the neighborhood. The community is located approximately two miles south of Slaughter Lane and a convenient 12 miles from downtown Austin, and from our community we have easy access to Mopac (Loop 1) and IH-35.

Our community of 618 homes was established in 1996 and built by Ryland Homes. The neighborhood is very safe, with Travis County Sheriff’s Office frequently patrolling, Shady Hollow MUD Fire station #503 located nearby, and our own neighborhood crime stopper volunteers. Our utilities are provided by Pedernales Electric Coop and City of Austin Utilities. We have an active Homeowners Association (HOA) that meets monthly and a neighborhood covenant that helps to keep VOSH beautiful.

Our neighborhood, located within The Austin Independent School District (AISD), boasts some of the best schools in Austin. Our kids attend Baranoff Elementary School (located within the neighborhood), Bailey Middle School, and Bowie High School. In 2015 Baranoff ranked higher than 96% of all elementary schools in Texas and 8th of all AISD elementary schools. Bailey ranked 2nd of all AISD middle schools, and in 2016 U.S. News & World Report awarded Bowie High School a silver medal award. (sources: schooldigger.com and usnews.com )
